As many of you know, we recently launched a new line of curated seasonings. We wanted these products to be an extension of the BOND & TAYLOR experience--a way for our clients to add an element of fun and whimsy to their own creations in the kitchen. With New Year's Eve around the corner, we wanted to share some ideas around how to use our seasonings to add some major festivity to your food!
Spanish Rose Margarita Garnish
Add a special detail to your holiday cocktail with a Spanish Rose Salted glass! To play bartender, simply line your glass with lemon/lime juice and dip the glass in the salt. Add your cocktail of choice (we’re loving Pomegranate Honey Margaritas right now) and enjoy!
Midnight Oil Popcorn
Impress all of your friends by serving popcorn unlike any they’ve had before! The combination of seaweed, sesame and black lava salt marries together for a taste that your party guests will go crazy for--all you have to do is pop the corn, add melted ghee and a liberal amount of the Midnight Oil!
XIV Sprinkled Crostinis
Crostinis are always party pleasers. Our two go-to combos are cucumber-avocado and prosciutto, goat cheese and fig. All you have to do is toast bread (we’re partial to pumpernickel) and spread on avocado and ribbons of cucumbers or, add goat cheese, sliced fresh fig and a couple slices of smoked meat. Top both off with XIV and enjoy a major flavor explosion!
Wood Salt Chocolate Bark
This seasoning pairs nicely with most everything, so we suggest using it for our favorite flavor combination: salty and sweet! To DIY your own bark, simply melt your favorite type of chocolate over a double boiler. Once melted, pour the liquid chocolate onto a parchment lined baking sheet and add the Wood Salt. Let the bark sit in the fridge for 30 minutes and break into bite-sized pieces!
Bond & Taylor is all about making healthful food a fun and memorable experience. When we cater for you, we are responsible for curating your menu and preparing your food. Some clients have asked how they can recreate the B&T experience themselves in their home kitchens. This motivated us to create two special B&T products that we hope will integrate us into your daily rituals: cold brew coffee to get your morning going and a variety of distinct spice blends to simplify and beautify your everyday home cooking. Both are now available here!
B&T Cold Brew
Whether it’s an espresso run for the chefs or a forty cup carafe for Vogue China, the Bond & Taylor crew starts everyday with coffee. We’ve found that all coffee is not created equally. Often, the process of heating coffee grounds makes the final product bitter and acidic--completely altering its intended flavor and health benefits. Our cold brew coffee on the other hand, created locally in our Brooklyn kitchen, uses a filtering system that retains its natural minerals, flavors and richness. Plus, our cold brew is quite concentrated, so you don’t need as much to get your fix.
In the B&T kitchen, everyone takes their cup of joe differently. Reginald likes black coffee with sugar while Alexis and Pedro prefer cappuccinos. Peter loves our cold brew with nut milk and cinnamon. If you need a sweetener, use mineral-rich maple syrup, raw honey or coconut sugar instead of traditional white sugar. Also remember to not drink coffee on an empty stomach! Prevent jitters by pairing your cold brew with a balanced meal. Make sure that the food you pair with it includes protein, fat and carbohydrates to give you sustainable energy that lasts throughout the day, such as oatmeal with nut butter or eggs on sprouted grain toast. Enjoy all of these benefits with our B&T cold brew, available online here.
Our intention is to give the world beautiful food with rich depth of flavor. Our clients have asked how they can achieve what we do but in their own homes. Our solution? A special variety of powder blends, all specifically concocted with a unique flavor profile. Inspired by places, memories and fantasies near and dear to B&T, we’ve underlined each powder’s personality below, along with some suggested food pairings. Available individually, here:
